THE BEATITUDES – Series 1
Matthew 5:1-3 KJV
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: [2] And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, [3] Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Our key verse is verse 3. It says blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God. Meditating on this verse should bring up two main questions. What does it mean to be poor in spirit and is it a virtue I have?
