I stared up at the sky for a moment on my way home after a busy day. The sky was beautiful and cloudy and in that moment, I thought to myself “Behold He comes in the clouds with ten thousands of His saints”. It was a beautiful peaceful thought, imagining Christ coming for His saints. I thought of the rest it would bring and how sweet it would be to be with Jesus at His coming.

There is a great event coming up that will affect the whole world. It is an event that all true followers and believers of Jesus are waiting for. It is the catching up of the saints. A term commonly known as The Rapture.
At its occurrence, a trumpet will sound and the bodies of all who have died in Christ will be resurrected and in the blink of an eye, everyone alive whose sins have been washed in the blood of Jesus and whose garment has been kept pure will be caught up in the sky to meet Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Only those who are in Christ will hear this trumpet both the dead and the living and their bodies will be changed from this earthly and mortal body to a heavenly and immortal body, and they will remain with the Lord forever.
1 Corinthians 15:52-53 KJV In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
How wonderful it will be to experience this and remain with God forever. Sadly, not everyone on earth is ready for this event. Many feel this event has long been announced and don’t believe it will happen in their generation. Others feel they already have a form of godliness and are already followers of Christ, however, they don’t follow His teachings nor obey His commandments. Some have just drifted so far from God their lives have lost every semblance of Christ-likeness and they are far from being ready for the Coming of Jesus.
Matthew 24:42 AMP “So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming.
Jesus calls for all waiting for His coming to remain alert.
You might be reading this and thinking “what if I miss the rapture and I’m not taken up?” Well, the bible warns of a dreadful time after the rapture so terrible there has never been anytime more terrible in history, nor will ever be.
Matthew 24:21 KJV For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
It will be a time when God will pour out His wrath on the world. A time when death will be sought for and not found. It will be a time of great suffering and pain its days will have to be shortened so that some could survive.
Matthew 24:22 KJV And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
You might think “well, the world is already a terrible place now, how bad can it get?” Well, the bible refers to the present suffering and sorrow in the world as just the beginning in Matthew 24:8 AMP “But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish and the time of unprecedented trouble]”.
Now think of the current condition of the world, terrorism, famine, droughts, sufferings, pains, sorrow, hunger, death and countless more, yet even with all these, it seems to be getting worse day by day. Now, If the bible refers to this current condition as just the beginning, then imagine how terrible that time will be.
Someone might read this and think, “why must I believe that this event will even take place?”. Well, in answer to that, there are many events prophesied in the bible that came to pass with accuracy long after they were prophesied. Some include
- The virgin birth of Jesus in Isaiah 7:14. This was fulfilled about 750 years after it was prophesied by Isaiah
- The betrayal of Jesus by a friend in Psalm 41:9 KJV. This was fulfilled about 1200 years after is was prophesied by King David
- The exact amount of money that Jesus would be betrayed with in Zechariah 11:12 KJV. This was fulfilled about 550 years later after it was prophesied Zechariah
These are just three examples of events that were prophesied and came to pass with precise accuracy. Hence, regardless of how long it takes, it will be fulfilled, just as it is written about it.
Therefore, the prophecy of the catching up of the saints just before the time of Great Suffering will also come to pass. Paul the Apostle prophesied about it in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and 1 Corinthians 15:52. Jesus Himself also prophesied about the terrible time coming after the saints have been caught up in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. John also prophesied about these events in detail in the book of Revelation.
All these signs cannot be ignored. It will come to fulfillment just as God has said in His Word. Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater. [11] So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Jesus also said in Luke 21: 33 KJV “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away”. This means that every word God has ever spoken will come to pass, it will never go back to Him void. That is why Paul the Apostle said in Acts 17:30 KJV “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent”.
God is calling all who are not washed in the blood of Jesus to repent and is reminding all who profess to follow Him to be watchful and prayerful. Luke 21:36 KJV “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man”.
The question I therefore ask you now is, If Jesus were to come this very second, would you hear the trumpet sound? Or would you be among those wondering if the rapture just occurred.
Everything has been put in place to help you be ready for the rapture, will you allow it be in vain in your own life, or will you take the life line stretched out to you.
You are not reading this post today by coincidence, Jesus is calling you to repent and accept Him if you haven’t and reminding all who follow Him half heartedly (having a form of godliness but disobedient to God’s commandments) to WAKE UP and get ready. There won’t be a second rapture.
